About
We all find it hard to motivate ourselves to do exercises at home. Walking and gardening are great, but are not enough to maintain the strength, stability and flexibility of our joints and muscles.
Gentle Fitness classes are for all abilities and utilise low-impact aerobics to promote overall fitness while keeping muscles strong and maintaining joint flexibility. We aim to work together weekly to remind our bodies about good posture, breathing and mobility so that we have the confidence and stamina to do the things we love, and need to, with the rest of our time!
These classes give you the space and time to work on your health with others, in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Whatever your fitness experience or goal, please get in touch via the Contact me page or view the class timetable to find out more and discover how beneficial gentle aerobic exercise can be.

Testimonials
“Caroline’s Gentle Fitness classes offer rehab after physical, emotional or spiritual damage, and are very good for chronic pain ... easing and sometimes even healing it. Gentle Fitness can be part of general body maintenance or improve your physical appearance. It should be a way of life, and general wellbeing.” – Deidre, long-term attendee
“I have been going to Caroline’s exercise classes for some years and always feel better after a class. As well as gentle aerobics, the classes include using light weights, stretch bands, bender balls, and mat work. There is a friendly atmosphere and Caroline will always help anyone who cannot get the moves right. Do come along and try it out.” – Long-term attendee
“I was disappointed to have to give up Caroline's aerobic class several years ago due to arthritis and stiffness, but accepted her offer to try the chair-based class instead. I found this class very helpful in managing my problems with gentle stretching and strengthening exercises. A chair is always available for support, but not necessary for the whole class unless you so choose. There's a gentle aerobic section and a fun section at the end. I really miss it if I have to skip a class.” – Long-term attendee
"My husband and I have been attending Caroline’s Gentle Fitness classes for the last six years. We had just moved to Bury St Edmunds, not knowing anyone or, indeed, the area.
Caroline’s classes have been the ‘starting block’ for our new life here. With great kindness and warmth, she not only helped us to find the right exercise routine, appropriate to our age and health, but also suggested other groups to join. This enabled us to settle in well, make new friends, and provide a structure to our week. I have found her classes so beneficial that I now go to two classes each week.” – Annette
